Student Itinerary
This exciting ten day trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Each student will experience science and nature on an up close and personal basis unlike any other experience in the world. Memories of a lifetime are built on these trips!

Day Activity

Sunday Your adventure begins!  Depart from Miami Airport for Iquitos, Peru.  Check into your hotel overlooking the river!  
Monday Explore Iquitos & visit an Amazon Butterfly Sanctuary en-route by boat to your Amazon Rainforest Lodge!  Settle in, relax, or swim.  Then begin your exploration of the rainforest with a evening trek!
Tuesday Explore the wonders of the rainforest while trekking along small rainforest trails.  Discover the secrets of the rainforests through hands-on interactions in the fields of botany, zoology, ecology & conservation.  Unveil the mysteries of the rainforest's nocturnal life during a night hike!
Wednesday Continue Rainforest exploration via small boat on small rainforest streams.  Relax as we wind up jungle streams and explore the rainforest from the water's edge.  Spend the rest of the day relaxing, veiwing the rainforest from the lodge's observation tower, swimming in the pool or quietly fishing in the Rio Momon.
Thursday Early morning boat cruises will reveal many gorgeous bird species as they start their day along the river's edge...toucans, macaws, parrots, and weavers are all part of the foray!   
Friday A two hour hike will transport us back in time to see the Jivaro tribe and their jungle traditions.  Try your hand with a traditional blowgun!  Experience their culture, their traditional dance and medicine, and their struggle to survive in today's world. 
Saturday Swim with the Pink River Dolphin on your way to visit the Bora tribe; watch them dance and dance with them in their common house. Learn how their culture survives in the Amazon.  Beautiful handicrafts!
Sunday Visit and stay with a Campa tribe Shaman. Learn ancient medicinal plant secrets used by tribes for thousands of years. Visit a rainforest zoo/rehab facility. Swim in a spring-fed lake with a beach.
Monday Explore the fabulous market of Belen and shop for handmade crafts in Iquitos
Tuesday Depart Iquitos for Miami and return to your home.  Welcome Home!

The total price of $2,099.00 includes transportaion from Melbourne, Florida to Miami and round-trip air transportation from Miami, Florida - Iquitos, Peru; all ground transportation, all hotel and lodge accommodations, meals, insurance, service gratuities, entrance fees for lectures, demonstrations and Tribal Experiences, plus amazing memories to last a lifetime.
